I assure you, venturing out was not a lapse in judgement on my part. I was merely helping my brother move an unwanted couch using my dad’s truck. Really, I had to get out of the house one way or another, but I was really surprised at the sheer quantity of people on the road on this Saturday afternoon.
And have some DOTS for your trouble.
A plum crazy banana.
OEM?
I haven’t seen an IS300 Sportcross for quite a while. This one had some massive rims with a little camber thrown in for good measure. Too bad about the Aztecca taillights on silver color combo.
While we’re at it, have some photography.
Laurel Park in Marietta was pretty quiet. It would be a much nicer place to walk if the paths were more intact. Also, the ducks are mean and do not yield to pedestrians.
What the heck. Have some doggos for good measure . The longsuffering “Turkey” feels attacked by his elder, Kobe.
What did you think of the video? Of the DOTS? Of anything really. I’ve not had a good day.

Unless I’m tripping, that exit (and brief drive) was from 75 to 575. 575 goes into the KSU and Cherokee County area, not Acworth. That whole area of the county where the Cabela’s is is weird.
I haven’t been to Laurel Park since I was little. It had a cool playground, though, but the ones at Swift Cantrell (and you could even say Lost Mountain) were pretty cool, too. Haven’t been to either in a long time, though, so they may have changed.

That was 75 North up to the Cabella’s exit and then going through to the exit after that (near the Country Club) coming from the North Avenue area. The 575 excursion was just to Chastai n before switching.
Laurel park is always pretty sleepy and maybe a bit run down. They recently added a massive concrete wall behind the waterfall from the top pond that has reduced flow to the creek leading to the bottom pond. I liked it better with a rock wall there. Swift Cantrell has changed a lot too. They even finally got around to building that skate park. I never really ventured much around lost mountain though. What one were you talking about?
The real star was Lewis park hidden between the railroad tracks and Cherokee St in Marietta because the playground had sand instead of wood chips as the floor. Sadly that is gone as well now.

I went to Swift Cantrell while volunteering with a camp in 2012, and the skate park existed as recently as then. I never knew about Lewis, though.
Lost Mountain Park is over in West Cobb, which is mostly Marietta or Powder Springs mailing addresses. Take Dallas Highway all the way out past The Avenue and the newer shopping center with the Sprout’s, then Lost Mountain Park will be a left turn right past the West Cobb Police precinct.

Cool video! Multi-lanes on one side of the highway always seem weird to me...the most lanes on one side of the
highway anywhere near where I live in Nova Scotia is 3 or
4, and that’s only in Halifax in certain places. Even on the divided highways here, most are only two lanes on either side.

Ha well you haven’t been in gridlock 8 lanes wide on each side as Atlanta is apt to do. That’s not even counting the reversible two lane elevated express lane (which really really should have been the MARTA light rail and I hate the error more every day).
Atlanta is weird, because all the surface streets are one way bridges that don’t quite line up and also look exactly like ground level . No one thought that the city would ever be important enough to bother with urban planning until they realized they had largest city in the southern US built over a gaping hole of a railroad junction. If you ever get the chance, Atlanta has probably the single most unusual surface street layout in US because of this (and some hilly terrain ) , which makes for some novel (and bewildering) driving.
The highway just plows through the western side of the city with reckless abandon, usually well below the false street level, with lanes appearing and dis app earing seemingly at random.
Two lane highways actually seem strange to me. Where does all the traffic go?
